2021 My Red, DO Slovenian Styria, Sanctum Winery, Slovenia: 13.5% Vol. Blend: 60% Syrah / 40% Pinot Noir

Continental cool climate, with cold winters and sunny, mild springs, with sun-drenching summers. The vineyards are located on steep slopes (30˚- 40˚) of hills above Loče with southern-exposure, at an altitude of 300-400 m above sea level. The soils are predominantly marl with some spots of clay.

 VINIFICATION

Grapes are hand-picked and carefully selected. Fermentation starts in small fermenters with natural yeasts. Wine is aging for 12 to 18 months in 500 l Slavonian oak for Syrah and in French barriques for Pinot Noir. Bottled without filtration.

 TASTING NOTES

The colour of wine is violet ruby. My red is on the nose harmonious blend of pepper and spices from Syrah with vibrant black fruits from Pinot Noir. Full bodied and elegant, with balanced soft tannins, a true expression of our terroir.
