Verdejo Grape:
It has a unique flavor, with a hint of scrub herbs, a fruity hint, and an excellent level of acidity. The extract, a key factor when evaluating the personality of great white wines, is perceived through its volume and its characteristic bitter touch, which leaves a flash of originality in the mouth, accompanied by a rich fruity expression. These wines are harmonious, and their aftertaste invites you to go and drink.
Weather conditions:
The D.O. rolls 700 to 800 meters above sea level and consists of flat highlands, with very long and cold winters, short springs with late frosts and dry, hot summers, only altered by premature storms. This factor forces the strains to seek deep underground water resources, much more so than in other European regions. In terms of latitude, the Rueda region is located in the Mediterranean area. Its altitude, however, corresponds to that of a continental region.
Our vineyard:
A wine-growing region is formed by its soil, topography and climate. Our vineyards – thanks to their stony soil, topography and cool high-altitude climate – are an ideal region for the cultivation of a classic high-quality white wine variety. We own 20 hectares of Verdejo vines in the village of Villanueva de Duero – Valladolid.
D.O. Rueda:
The Rueda designation of origin was approved by the Ministry of Agriculture on 12 January 1980; It was the first designation of origin to be approved in the community of Castilla y León, after years of hard work to gain recognition and protection for its native grape variety: Verdejo.
