2018 Dr Crusius Schlossbockelheim Riesling Trocken VDP Ortswein. Alcohol 12.5% VOL
VDP.ORTSWEINE originate from high-quality, characterful and traditional vineyards within one locality and give the typical local terroir a sense of expression. Only regional grape varieties are bottled. In this case we are referring to our Riesling vineyards near the village of Schlossböckelheim. There, we own the VDP.GROSSE LAGE KUPFERGRUBE and FLESENBERG, two renowned sites that produce outstanding GGs. The younger vines supply the grapes for our Schlossböckelheim Riesling dry, VDP.Ortswein.
The wine has a fresh and inciting nose, also characterized by the black volcanic soil (melaphyr). A great mineral wine with a herbal spiciness to it that is elegant and straightforward. Even a hint of apricots can be tasted.
