2018 Tilia Estate Rubido, Slovenia: 14.5% Vol: 70% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon:
All the vines are very low yield with 20% of them limited to to 6 clusters per vine. The grapes are very well matured; grape tops removed at the beginning of August (at veraison). Two days of cold and 8 days of classic maceration. The wine is aged for 16 months in Slavonian and French oak barrique barrels (10% of new barrels). Controlled malolactic fermentation and 3 months of active batonaging.
Ruby color with youthful violet hues. Mature aromas of ripe red fruits (bramble, raspberry, maraschino cherry), carob, spicy cinnamon notes, vanilla and some smoky notes. Recognizable aromatic of cabernet sauvignon (blackcurrant). Classical modern Bordeaux wine, ready to drink now but with a long life 5 – 10 years.
