Red Porphyry soil. The VDP. GROSSE LAGE® Muhlberg vineyard is located 7.5 km west of Traisen in a narrow section of the Valley of the Nahe. The good water flow, the extreme southern slope and the easy warmability of the brown grey soil require an early start of vegetation and in the result an extraordinarily long ripening phase. The Rieslings, which are produced there on 2 ha of vineyard area, are characterized by a fine elegance, tenderness in the acidity with a long, very ripe-looking finale.The Muhlberg selection impresses in its maturity with a lot of freshness, scent and taste of red vineyard peaches with some ripe gooseberry and plum. This selection and a dessert always harmonize, blue cheese is a poem and as an aperitif the Muhlberg selection is hard to beat.
